Eyewear Trends of 2013 (Giveaway sponsored by ClearlyContacts.ca)

I'm sure that some of you have eyesight problems just like me. Some of the (courageous) people gets laser surgery, other decides to wear contact lenses while and there's people who assumes it and stick with the good ol' glasses. 

Glasses have become  more than something to correct eyesight, it became an accessory, a piece of statement. A pair of glasses can completely change the way you look but you have so much choice on the market nowadays. You can have them rimless, square, round, thick rims, black, purple & etc. If you're looking for a new pair of glasses or you're just someone who likes to follow the trend, here's a résumé of what's "in" for 2013. 

"EYEWEAR TRENDS OF 2013

CAT EYE

The cat eye has been reinterpreted for a new generation of glasses wearers for 2013 with streamlined shapes and patterns. Mary J Blige and Katy Perry were early adopters of the trend, and the newest collections offer stylish and flattering options, including the Grammar Collection Derek Cardigan 7019 frames in Dark Timber.

COLOURFUL ARMS

If you prefer a subtle look face on, but still want to stay on trend this year, Michael Kors offers eyewear with colourful arms that provide unique detailing that adds dimen- sion. These Michael Kors 697 200 Dark Brown frames feature a classic rectangular shape with a twist of multi-coloured marbled detailing on the temple.

KEYHOLE DETAILING

Glasses with keyhole cut bridges are a great way to sport stylish detailing in 2013. Favoured by modern style icons such as Ryan Gosling, Alexa Chung and Johnny Depp, keyhole details nod to the past while current design, such as these Derek Cardigan 7023 frames in Olive, maintain a modern look. 

DRAMATIC PATTERNS

Glasses provide a great opportunity to mix in dramatic patterns to your look without having to drastically alter your wardrobe. Joseph Marc 4083 Havana frames feature a blond tortoiseshell Havana pattern. The round shape continues to be a key trend in 2013, adding a confident and sophisitcated edge.

STATEMENT FRAMES

Statement frames are evolving in the New Year with shapes that bridge the gap between rectangular and square and perfectly frame the face. Zooey Deschanel, Justin Timberlake and Cate Blanchett have all shown how statement eyewear is an ideal punctuation to personal style. Even though I'm a regular contact lenses wearer, I like to wear my glasses when I'm home or running errands. If you follow me on Instagram, you'll probably find a picture of me with a pair of glasses of my nose. If you didn't see it, here's what it looks like:
