Korres Lemon Lip Scrub review

Hi everyone! =] Today I'll review Korres Lip Scrub that I bought while ago along with the Jasmin lip butter. In fact, I bought the "Love your lip" set from Sephora. At first, I only wanted to try the lip scrub but the price tag just kept me away lol so I opted for this kit, which was only about 9 or 10$ more and I could get 3 more products haha.
My lips were chapped and the skin was flaking due to stress and the cold weather. I applied lip balm everyday but it seems like I couldn't get rid of those flaky skin! Ugh. SO I thought that I would try a lip scrub in order to scrub away the dead skin. I couldn't find any at the drugstore (weird) so I checked out this one because a lot of people raved about it. I had high expectations for this since there were so much good ratings and the crazy price tag. What it claims :
"What it is: A gentle yet effective exfoliating lip treatment that prepares lips for long-lasting lip color.

What it does: Lips are left soft and nourished due to the soothing botanical ingredients in this formula. Rice powder, a natural exfoliating agent, gently resurfaces the skin, revealing soft, supple lips. The proprietary blend of coconut flour, jojoba seed oil, and beeswax moisturize and condition lips—leaving them in prime-puckering condition.

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
- Parabens
- Sulfates
- Synthetic Fragrances
- Synthetic Dyes
- Petrochemicals
- Phthalates
- GMOs
- Triclosans

What else you need to know:  100% Natural Ingredients. Flavor of scrub is invigorating, fresh-squeezed lemon" (Information from Sephora.com)

It made me go "OoOoO" haha. When I opened the tube, there was this nice lemon smell. The product is kind of a yellow color and I was expecting big chunks of rice grains but what I saw was tiny grains. When I applied it, I was surprised by how it was gliding smoothly and I could barely feel the grains. Honestly, I didn't felt like it was exfoliating my lips. I wiped off the product off and started to touch my pout. Surprise! Flaky skin was still hanging on tightly! However, I could feel that the parts where I didn't have dead skin were smoother and supple. I tried it again several time but nothing. Big disappointment =(

What I liked about Korres Lemon Lip Scrub:
  • Nice lemon smell
  • Comes in a lipstick tube
  • Very gentle and smooth application
  • Good for people with sensitive lips
What I don't like:

  • Didn't exfoliate MY lips
  • Crazy price tag (25$CAN)
  • A lot of product is needed, you might finish it very fast
Final ratings:
Packaging: 5/5 Comes in a lipstick tube, very portable and easy to use
Quality: 3/5  I expected more of it
Effectiveness: 2/5 I didn't felt like it scrubbed anything
Price: 2/5 25$CAN for a lipscrub.. I can find cheaper and more effective
Scent: 5/5 light lemon scent
Would I repurchase? No.

  3. @Sophia: Have you tried BListex medicated lipbalms? I have the lip medex one (in a jar) and it works wonderfully :)

@Kaitlyn: I know it sucks so bad esp. for the price :( If you're searching for a lip scrub try the ones from Lush. They are very affordable and they are amazing! I have the mint julips and they do exfoliate well :D

  5. I thought about getting the product awhile back but I'm kind of glad I didn't now. The product sounds like it smells lovely and looks nice but I guess it doesn't work as well as it looks.

You know what's a trick I do to exfoliate my lips? Vaseline and sugar. =] Try it sometime. It works really well. Reminds me of the new lip scrubs LUSH came out with.

  8. Oh that sucks :( I use my Haus of Gloi sugar scrub (which is generally for use on the body) on my lips and face, it works quite well. And I think it's cheaper than the LUSH one for a sample size.
